Dear Residents
The Polis are reaching out to Residents in USJ in their Crime Prevention efforts.
Chief Inspector Tuan Foo Teik Fong of Balai Polis USJ has made the following offer to residents.
1. Joint foot patrol with the Polis
The Polis will send their personnel to do joint foot patrol of the Neighbourhood with residents of any precinct. This could be especially interesting for areas where there are high instances of snatch theft and house break-ins.
2. Joint patrol in Kereta Peronda Polis (MPV)
Residents who are interested, get to ride in the Polis Patrol Cars as they do their rounds during the day or night. This will give residents first hand experience of how the Polis, patrol the various Neighbourhoods in USJ. As you can imagine, there will only be limited space available.
Those of you who are interested in participating in these activities with the Polis, please drop me a note and I will try to make the necessary arrangements.
Best Regards
Robert

Increased Crime in USJ for November 2008

Increased Crime in USJ for November 2008
Please be more careful and cautious. Crime rate for USJ area increased in November to 112 cases, up by 15% from October's 97 cases. Snatch theft was up from 2 to 10 cases and robberies by more than one person without firearms was up from 11 to 21 cases. We hope fellow residents will take note and call the police immediately on sighting of any suspicious characters. Tuan Foo is currently on leave but you may call his deputy Sub Inspector Tuan Amir at 012 2713294. Any slightest information can be useful. For instance, you manage to spot say a getaway Camry car with number ending with 9. Another victim may note a similar Camry car with number starting with 4. The police can then at least piece such information together to look out for a Camry with number starting with 4 and ending with 9, rather than just a Camry with number ending with 9! Got the picture? Take care.
Please take note that these stats are from the Balai Polis USJ only.
=============================================
Dear Residents
Please also be informed that USJ2, USJ3, USJ6 and USJ11 continue to have high instances of Snatch theft and House break-in.
If you are living in these areas, please take extra precautions to prevent such crimes from happening. Report immediately to the Police any suspicious happenings in your precinct.
Police advice that even attempted crimes should be reported to them.

Dear All,
Yesterday night two well educated Malay boys driving a White Toyota Camry drove by.I was about to go out and my car was parked outside.
They stopped for a while next to my car looking lost.I got into my car straight away wanting to lock the door but one of them has already opened my door and sat in the car telling me to be quiet as I started to scream.
I got out of the car and still screaming. The other boy came out from the Camry with a parang and came towards me asking for my keys..house and car.
He then hesitated for a while whether to take my car and then asked for my handbag.
In the end he did not take the car but only my house keys, car keys and my handbag.
They are very calm throughout, spoke English, well dressed, medium built about 5'6".
After the incident they just drove away slowly. Not scared or panicky at all.
I did not manage to get the number plate as they did not turn on the lights.
Just want to share this with everyone.Keep a look out for any car stopping outside your house. They may come back with this White Camry or with another car.

For your information, Persatuan SLE Malaysia (PSLEM) is a ROS-registered, non-profit support group set up in 1994 by concerned doctors and patients to help people suffering from Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), a condition in which the body produces antibodies that attack its own organs. The association is recognised as a charity by the government.
Why walk with an umbrella?
- To create awareness that SLE patients have to avoid too much sun and of SLE as a potentially devastating disease. With this awareness, it is hoped that SLE sufferers in Malaysia will be diagnosed earlier and therefore have a better chance of survival.
- To raise money to kickstart the SLE Fund which will provide financial assistance to needy patients requiring joint replacement and cataract operations (due to long-term treatment using steroids) and certain expensive medications. Hi, I am the new member of this SJ Alert group. I just come across this group & would like to join as victim. My apartment at Goodyear Court 7 was broken in on 3/11 when we were out to work. They broken in from my grill door & also broken my nyatoh wooden door. They ransacked all the rooms wardrobe, drawers & the toilet ceiling. They also tear the wall paper at the back of the photo. I had lost my valuable jewelleries given by my mother.
I believe they are same gang of peoples who will always come during raining because that day was also raining.
We also suspect the thief is insider because they seem to be familiar with our thing and schedule very well.
Hoping that the police can able to catch this gang of people as I feel not safe to stay at my own apartment which I have been staying for more than 10 years.

Dear residents,
this morning at around 8.30am, there was an attempt to rob a neighbour but it was foiled by me when I ran to her rescue as she was screaming for help,
the 2 thieves jumped on the bike and sped off, their lucky day , following is the look out info :
a) 2 Malay/Indon ( dark skinned )
b) Age : 22-23
c) Built : Skinny
d) Bike : Honda/Yamaha : Black : Kapchai
e) Reg No : In complete : WK_ 4_8_ _ ( something to this combination ) every thing just happened to fast
Episod : Lady drove her car out and from her drive way and was about to close her gate when these 2 crooks rode past and than made a U -turn.
One guy sat on the bike and the other tried to ransack her car despite her screams in the hope that her purse or mobile will be on the car seat,
but she was smart, she had her purse and mobile in her pants pocket , so when the guy saw me coming , he ran for his life.
I missed the crooks by 6 ft , otherwise, I would have sent them to the hospital with broken arms and legs , they do not deserve any pity.
The lady says the guy lifted his T-shirt to show her a concealed weapon, not sure but could be a knife as that is the only size
they can tuck in their pants otherwise if any longer, than it will be a case for Mrs.Bobbit to stitch.
She had been advised in the past not wear jewellery nor carry fancy large handbags and she listened and nothing was stolen.
Mr Avtar Singh Gill had also shared his experiences and he too remembered our tips and saved himself.
Due to the many awareness programs on their modus opernadi and noisy bikes, some have become clever and now they ride silent
bikes as you will not be able to hear them come.
Called up Chief Suleiman of SS17 balai and gave the info for follow up. Will be having a meeting with my crime team to trap
these crooks as we had successfully carried out in the last 10 years.
Neighbours need to work as a team without the need to inconvenience others by blocking public roads with illegal barricades
or fencing up open public green areas.
Exchange phone nos, look out for strangers in cars and bikes, call the police , call your neighbours, blow your whistles , shout if
you have to, it works and it worked for us without the need to do anything illegal as mentioned above.
If there is anyone interested to meet us and learn our strategies, please email me directly at sohivideo@gmail.com , we can share our
experiences and you can share it with your neighbours and loved ones.

Yes, this happen to my house also in USJ14/1C is around 12 to 2pm afternoon the time they break into my house. That time also heavy rain they cut my gate padlock and my main door grile plus broken my nyatoh wooden door. My neighbour on my left, right and front on that time they are all at home but they said they didn't hear anything but rain and thunderstom. I believe it should be the same gang that break into your house and they will only strike when it is heavy rain.
So when ever is heavy rain please do look outside our neighbour house to prevent any break-in. Normally when there is rain we will close our window and door tide and don't bother to look outside.

Dear All,
I am writing this to inform that my daughter was robbed in front of the house by 2 indian youth in 20s yesterday about 3pm in the afternoon. She was pushed to the gate and her gold chain was snatched. Luckily it was a small gold chain that broke easily and her neck was not hurt.
After reading Yap KY’s email, I was wondering to make police report or not!
Please be alert and see around you when you come home.

The house next to mine have been rented out to a group of foreign workers (legal or illegal I not sure) who don’t seems to be bothered about the surroundings but treat this place like their heaven. This is another case of the current problem in this country that foreigners act like this country belongs to them. Back to my case, rubbbish is being thrown all over the place, drain stuck etc etc and the smell is terrible compounded by the noise they make. Tried talking to them and they act like they don’t understand Bahasa Malaysia. Should I make a report to RELA and request its help in clearing them off. Another question is ‘WHAT IF THEY ARE LEGAL WORKERS’??? Any advices would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone – CKY

Mugging along SS15/5A

Hi all
I had a Malay girl coming for interview for a job at my company at SS15/5A. Since she was coming from her house in USJ, she took a bus and alighted at the bus stand opposite Carrefour. I directed her to my office at No. 85 and asked her to walk along the row of shophouses all the way to my office.
15 mins later, she had not arrived. I tried to call her mobile, it rang once and then stopped. I tried to contact her mobile but no reply.
She just called me today and she that she was mugged and that was why she did not turn up for the interview yesterday. I was stunned. She was robbed of her handbag which contained money, ATM cards, handphone and sadly, her SPM and other certificates by an Indian on a motorbike in front of houses as she was crossing the shophouses to the next row of shophouses.
As a business owner, operating a business in Subang Jaya, I have heard stories and also my staff was anear victim.
As someone from Kepong, I don’t stay here, where almost all the houses are now guarded communities, I just can’t believe that such things keep happening in an upmarket residential community like Subang Jaya. Something needs to be done to stop such crimes and yet I don’t see enough being done. For the good of the community, I do hope that SJ Alert can organise a campaign to overcome this.
The girl will be coming for interview tomorrow in spite of the unfortunate incident.
Best regards

It was around 5am when a Muslim neighbour in SS14 neighbourhood getting ready for Sahur heard a commotion outside. Armed with a big stick to protect himself, he went out to see what was all the noise about. He found 4 men pinning a neighbour's son to the ground. He shouted. Shocked the foursome rushed into their Vios and escaped. The victim was a little bruised from being hit by a stick and his legs grazed from the fall. His wallet was taken during the scuffle.According to him, he had just returned home from work and was getting out from the car when he was confronted by 4 Malay men in a Vios with what he remembers (number plate JJY 14..). He had not noticed being followed.By the time the assailants left, other neighbours had come out and the police had been called.
So guys, please watch out when u come home late at night, or for that matter any time in the day...be sure no one is tailing you. If you suspect something amiss, don't stop. Head straight for the nearest police station.

Dear friends and fellow residents FLASH!!!
FIRST 200 residents WHO REGISTER FOR "BALIK KAMPUNG - RUMAH SELAMAT" DURING CAMPAIGN LAUNCH AT THE SUMMIT SUBANG USJ SHOPPING COMPLEX WILL GET NON-WOVEN SHOPPING BAG AND RM25 VOUCHER (for DIGITAL PHOTO DEVELOPING) -- COURTESY OF SUMMIT SUBANG USJ!
COME -- join us at the launch of BALIK KAMPUNG - RUMAH SELAMAT CAMPAIGN by Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar on:
Date: Sunday, Sept 07, 2008
Time: 11.00am
Venue: Concourse area, The Summit Subang USJ Shopping Complex, Subang Jaya
The event will also be attended by Selangor CPO and OCPD Subang Jaya and other top cops (state & district level) and ADUN Subang Jaya, YB Hannah Yeoh.
What is Kempen "Balik Kampung - Rumah Selamat" all about?
It's a special service provided by the Police for residents of USJ/SJ/Putra Heights/Bandar Sunway for those planning to "balik kampung" or go away on holidays during the forthcoming Hari Raya festive season. Get the police to keep an eye on your unoccupied home -- for greater peace of mind security-wise. All you have to do is to register using our specially-printed "balik kampung" forms (available at your neighbourhood balai polis or participating shopping complexes/hypermarkets) or register on-line at http://www.sjalert.com.my/.
Did you know?
Earlier this year, during the Chinese New Year festive season, none of the 300+ homes which registered for the "Balik Kampung" police service experienced any untoward incidents. Only 2 incidents were reported during that 1st weekend of CNY -- one of stolen bike and another of a house-breakin (the house-owner did not register for the BK-RS programme.) Let us, together as a community, pool our resources in crime prevention. Tell your neighbours and friends about Balik Kampung - Rumah Selamat campaign ... spread the word around. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, Sept 14 @ 11am -- come and meet some friends at the same time!

Hi Everyone:
This is my first time using this SJ alert. Just wanted to let everyone know that my neighbour had her handbag snatched right in front of her house in USJ 6/4 yesterday morning at around 6:30am. I think it's the same 2 Guys that snatched my laptop bag right inside my house late last year. The motorbike sounded the same, really loud motor sound and also with 2 guys.
Please be alert as these guys had a parang aimed at me since one of them had to get off the bike to snatch my bag. My neighbour had minor injuries to her arm.Anyway, please be careful.
Rgds.

To date we have 660 email members, this number will increase to more than 1000+ members by early next week as we continue to update the database with information that we have from SJ Alert SMS.
After that we will open up this service to all remaining SJ Alert SMS members who have not left their emails with us (this we will do by sending our an SJ Alert SMS message) and finally the service will open to new members.
The reason we started this emailing system was to compliment the SJ Alert SMS Service. There are just so many characters you can send in an SMS Message. In an email we can offer you information like this (PLEASE TAKE NOTE IF YOU HAVE NEVER DONE SO):
